Amanda-Jade Wellington speaks following Strikers win against Melbourne Renegades

The Adelaide Strikers have had an eight-wicket win against the Melbourne Renegades at Karen Rolton Oval on Monday afternoon.

Amanda-Jade Wellington was the star for the Strikers, taking equal League-best figures of 5-8, a record she already held.

• Strikers skipper Tahlia McGrath won her first bat flip of the year and elected to bowl. Megan Schutt ran out Renegades captain Sophie Molineux in the second over to start the match well.
• The spinners were on from the start of the match, with Jemma Barsby and Amanda-Jade Wellington both getting wickets in their opening overs to have the Renegades 3-19.
• Consistent wickets fell after that and in the 20th over, Wellington got identical stumpings in consecutive deliveries. Whilst not getting a hat-trick, she got her fifth wicket the next delivery to finish with figures of 5-8. The Strikers bowled the Renegades out for 101.
• Opening batter Deandra Dottin got the runchase off to a flyer, with two fours in the first over. She continued on from there and made her maiden 50 for the Strikers, finishing 55 not out.
• The Strikers chased down the runs with three overs to spare, having only lost two wickets.
• Wellington was named Player of the Match.

The Strikers are travelling to Brisbane later this week ahead of their matches against the Heat and Scorchers on Thursday and Friday.
