India's in-form batsman Ambati Rayudu has been ruled out of the remainder of Zimbabwe tour following an injury he sustained in the second One-Day International in Harare.

Rayudu pulled his right quadriceps muscle during the game which will need at least two to three weeks of recovery, as confirmed by a media release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

The 29-year-old is the leading run-scorer in the series so far having amassed 165 runs in the two games, which included a match-winning unbeaten knock of 124 in the first game.

The national selectors have named 20-year-old Sanju Samson as the replacement for Rayudu.

India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series against Zimbabwe with the third game scheduled to be played on 14th July in Harare.
