Angelo Mathews declared fit for series decider against India
Sri Lanka have received the much-needed boost ahead of the series-deciding final One-Day International against India in Visakhapatnam with their veteran all-rounder Angelo Mathews declared fit.
The 30-year-old was suffering from cramps at the end of his 111-run knock in the second game in Mohali which his team went on to lose by a massive 141 run margin.
Sri Lanka team manager Asanka Gurusinha confirmed that Mathews bowled and batted without any discomfort in the nets and will be available for selection for the third game of the series.
"Angelo Mathews has recovered from cramps, he suffered at the end of the last game. He bowled as well as batted in the nets today [Friday]," said Gurusinha.
"All our 15 members are fit and available for selection".
The series is currently levelled at 1-1 with the winner to be decided from the Sunday's encounter at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium that will kick-off at 13:30 local time.
