BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Veteran WINDIES Women’s off-spinner Anisa Mohammed spoke to CWI Media on the eve of the second ICC Women’s Championship One-day International of the Sandals International Home Series against South Africa Women on Wednesday at Kensington Oval here.

WINDIES Women trail 0-1 in the three-match series, following a 40-run defeat in the first ODI last Sunday at the same venue.

The three ODIs of the Sandals Series forms part of the third round of the ICC Women’s Championship.

The two teams are be looking to climb out of the bottom half of the points table, where both teams are tied on six points, but WINDIES Women are sixth on a superior net run rate of -0.644 and South Africa Women are seventh with an NNR of -0.864.

Hosts New Zealand and the three other top teams from the Championship will gain direct qualification for the 2021 ICC Women’s World Cup.

The remaining four sides will get a second chance through the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier event in which they will be joined by six teams from four regions – Africa, Asia, East Asia Pacific and Europe.
