Annabel Sutherland speaks after Women's Ashes Test
All-rounder Annabel Sutherland spoke to media today following her impressive performance with the ball at the death during the final day of the Commonwealth Bank Women's Ashes Test on Sunday.
Sutherland finished with figures of 3-69 including the key wickets of Natalie Sciver, Amy Jones and Katherine Brunt. Captain Meg Lanning showed great faith in Sutherland who, after getting hit for two consecutive sixes, held her nerve to drag Australia back into the contest.
Australia will resume it's preparations for the ODI leg of the series on Wednesday, with the first 50-over encounter to be played at Manuka Oval on Thursday before the remaining two matches move to Melbourne.
Across the series, teams are awarded two points for each ODI and T20 INTL win, while a Test win is worth four points. If a match is drawn the points are shared. The team that accumulates the most points at the end of the series will be awarded the Ashes. Australia has held the Ashes since retaining the trophy in 2015.
