One of the most sought after tournaments in 2023 cricket calender; The Asia Cup is due to commence on the 30th of August with Pakistan locking horns with Nepal in the Inaugural match.

Fixtures Schedule and Results

The previous edition of Asia Cup was played in the UAE where Sri Lanka trumped Pakistan in the Finals to become the champions. It was played in a T20I format while the latest edition will be played in an ODI format.

Venues of the tournament:

4 ODI matches will be hosted by Pakistan Cricket Borad while the remaining matches will be played in Sri Lanka. Asia Cup will be played across 4 different venues namely:

  • Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan
  • Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
  • Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy
  • R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

There are six teams participating in the Asia Cup 2023, namely Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

All the teams have been divided into two groups of 3 teams each. The groups are:

Group A - India, Pakistan and Nepal

Group B - Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

All the above mentioned teams will face each other in the six group stage matches, following which 4 teams will be selected for the Super 4's stage. After the Super 4's stage, top two teams will compete in the Final of Asia Cup, to be played on the 17th of September in Colombo.

The six team tournament will serve as a great practice ground leading to the ICC Men's World Cup to be held in India in October this year.
