Auckland Aces beat Otago Volts by 3 wickets in a thrilling Dream11 Super Smash Elimination Final today at the University Oval, Dunedin and booked a Final place against Wellington Firebirds on Sunday.

Auckland Aces won the toss and decided to bowl against Otago Volts who scored a competitive 174-8 in their 20 Overs with Nick Kelly 60, Dean Foxcroft 31, Anaru Kitchen 21 and Nathan G Smith 22 the main run getters; William Somerville 3-25 and Mark Chapman 2-32 the top wicket takers for the Aces.
In reply, Auckland Aces got over the line with one ball to spare, scoring 178-7 in 19.5 Overs – Martin Guptill 43, Glenn Phillips 27, Robert O’Donnell 27* and Ronnie Hira 33 the heroes in the run chase; Michael Rae 3-23 and Nathan G Smith 2-43 were the pick of the bowlers for the Volts.
The Aces looked completely out of the run chase when Mark Chapman was out in the 16th over with score on 115, but Hira and O’Donnell played it well and needing 33 off the last two overs, Hira took 20 from the penultimate over and was out leaving O’Donnell to finish it off by scoring the rest in the last over.
