Australia v South Africa
First One Day International, Kingsmead, Durban
Australia won the toss and chose to bat first in the opening One Day International against South Africa at Kingsmead, Durban.
South Africa named their team yesterday with Jacques Kallis absent, still recovering from a groin injury and captain Graeme Smith set to return after a broken hand sustained in the Test series.
Ben Laughlin was handed an ODI debut with Nathan Hauritz selected as Australia's specialist spinner with Michael Clarke and Brad Haddin opening the innings.
The Test series between the two sides went Australia's way (2-1) before South Africa won the Twenty20 International series (2-0).
