Despite Zimbabwe's best efforts with the bat, Bangladesh openers saw to it there would only be one victor, as they won by 48 runs in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.

Bangladesh openers scored quickly, only picking up intensity as Soumya Sarka joined them with 62* from 32 balls. Finishing their innings on 200-3 it always looked like a mountain to climb for Zimbabwe and Mustafizur Rahman (3-32) made sure it was.
Despite plenty of batsmen chipping in 20s, with opener Tinashe Kamunhukamwe (28) being the most prominent, it was never enough for Zimbabwe as they were bowled for 152.Combined with Aminul Islam (3-34) Bangladesh dominated with the bat and ball and never really gave Zimbabwe a chance.
