Shakib, who was recently reappointed as the skipper of the Test and One-Day International squads, sustained a finger injury during the tri-series against Sri Lanka and was forced to miss the Tests and T20I series against the same opposition.
In the absence of Shakib, Mahmudullah, who led them in the Tests and T20Is against Sri Lanka will lead the team in the upcoming tri-series that also involves host Sri Lanka and India.
The series will be played between 6th and 18th March with R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo being the venue for all the matches.
