Bangladesh vs Australia - Title Sponsor Declaration Ceremony Bangabandhu T20i Series -2021

COVID-19 Pandemic has severely disrupted our normal way of life. But we are trying our best to recover from this situation.

One part of this recovery is taking care of our own health through sports, games, or any kind of physical activities that may help with cardio. During recent months we celebrated EURO 2020 championship, COPA AMERICA tournament, various cricket series among different nations, not to mention TOKOYO Olympic is underway.

Bangladesh cricket team is keeping up their spirit. The recent series in Zimbabwe was uplifting for the players and fans alike. Australian cricket team is coming to Bangladesh when our Tigers are at their peak right after the Zimbabwe series. This will be an International T20 series.

This tournament is not only important for the team and the fans but for Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as well. After the successful campaign of Sri Lanka series this is another big challenge for BCB to successfully organize the tournament as a host for Australia.

To be successful in this campaign, a number of organization extended their support for BCB. One of them is Impress-Mattra Consortium, Title & Ground Branding Rights holder. Impress-Mattra Consortium has made the arrangement between BCB and Alesha Holdings Limited and Walton to be the home series Title and Ground Branding sponsor and Co-sponsor respectively till 2023. In the last Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka home series, Alesha Mart, a sister concern of the reputed business organization Alesha Holdings Limited, extended their support. This time another sister concern Alesha card will be the main sponsor.

 August is the month of mourning. In light of the spirit of this month and birth centenary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the International T20 series between Bangladesh and Australia has been dubbed “Bangabandhu Bangladesh vs Australia T20i Series-2021- Presented by Alesha Card Powered by Walton”. Alesha Card, a sister concern of Alesha Holdings Limited, is a Lifestyle Privilege Card. With the slogan ‘Privilege Redefined’, Alesha Card will make life easier for their cardholders by offering special discounts on various daily necessities, health services, hotels, restaurants and resorts services. Also one of the special benefits of Alesha card is that the card is completely free for the freedom fighters and valiant women of liberation war. The senior citizens who are 65 years old and above Bangladeshi citizens, will avail 50% discount with this card. Walton, a reputed company renowned for its ‘Made in Bangladesh’ slogan, is collaborating in this series as the co-sponsor.

In this series, there will be five international T20 Matches. The day-night matches will be played on August 3,4,6,7 and 9 at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. The games will be telecast live on Bangladesh Television, T-sports, and Gazi TV. The series is being organized through the biosecurity protocol to create a safe environment for all the players & staff due to the high risk of Corona.

In the presence of local and foreign TV, print and online newspapers and radio journalist, an online press conference was organized yesterday 1 August, 2021 at 12 noon Mohammed Jalal Yunus, Director and Chairman, Media committee, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), on behalf of title sponsor Alesha Card MD Manjur Alam Sikdar, Chairman and Managing Director, Alesha Holdings Limited, Mr. Robiul Islam Milton, Senior Deputy Operative Director, Marketing & communitcation, Walton Group on behalf of Powered by Walton, Mr. Sanaul Arefeen, Managing Partner, Mattra on behalf of title & ground branding rights holder ‘Impress-Mattra’Consortium’ were present to disseminate the news across the country.

 

At the online press conference, the two sponsoring organizations expressed that they are proud to be by the side of Bangladesh Cricket Board in this series organized in honor of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary, despite of the difficult times due to corona outbreak. Apart from this series, they also express their hope to participate in the series of Bangladesh Cricket team to be organized in the future. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) explained about a successful series between Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka in the time of this pandemic and also expressed optimism about the successful organization of the current series. Mr. Sanaul Arefeen, on behalf of the Impress-Mattra Consortium, the title and ground branding rights holder of the series thanked Bangladesh Cricket Board and its sponsoring bodies and highlighted their continued position in the development of cricket in the country.
