Perth Scorchers won the toss and decided to bowl against Sydney Thunder, and Jason Sangha 56* and Sam Billings 67 provided a much needed partnership of 113, after the Thunder were 23/2, at one stage, early on. The Thunder went on to hit 200/7 in their 20 overs - Matthew Kelly 3-30 and Mitchell Marsh 2-50 were the main wicket takers for the Scorchers.
In reply, the Scorchers got off to a poor start at 17-3 in the 3rd over and never really recovered from that, reaching just 166/8 in their 20 overs. Nathan McAndrew 3-40, Saqib Mahmood 2-29 and Chris Green 2-29 were the main wicket takers for the Thunder.
Sam Billings was Player of the Match.
