Third One-Day International in Colombo

Tammy scored a fluent 78 to help England Women chase down 162 against Sri Lanka Women successfully in the 30th over with five wickets in hand to win the third One-Day International in Colombo thereby claiming the series 3-0.

Danielle Hazell became the 15th player to lead the England Women's side after Heather Knight was ruled out with an injury.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. After the early loss of Hasini Perera (8), Sri Lanka were propelled by Nipuni Hansika (29), Chamari Atapattu (27), Dilani Manodara (22), Prasadani Weerakkody (15) and Chamari Polgampola (21) but none of them failed to carry on and post a big score.

With England bowlers striking at regular intervals, Sri Lanka could manage only 161 in 49.4 overs before they were bowled out.

In their chase, Lauren Winfield (21) and Beaumont (78) provided England a solid stand of 55 runs but Sri Lanka struck back to remove three quick wickets.

Winfield, Danielle Wyatt (4) and Natalie Sciver (10) were dismissed in a span of five overs to leave England at 87 for three.

However, Beaumont and Fran Wilson (30) struck together for an important 67-run stand for the fourth wicket which put England on course for victory. Beaumont runs came at almost a strike-rate of 100.

Even though Sri Lanka managed to dismiss both the players, England coasted to a five-wicket win in the 30th over which also helped them claim the series 3-0.
