A Beth Mooney century has seen the Brisbane Heat defeat the Sydney Thunder in a thrilling Rebel Women's Big Bash League game in Cairns.

Mooney scored 102 runs from 55 balls as the Heat chased down the Thunder's total of 171 with three balls to spare and seven wickets down.
The win was watched by 4,673 vocal fans at Cazaly's Stadium in Cairns, the second weekend in a row the Heat has enjoyed support in Regional Queensland after last Saturday's record breaking night in Mackay.
The win moves the Heat to second place on the WBBL ladder with a spot in the top four now secured. Fixtures for next Saturday's semi-finals in Sydney will be finalised at the close of the regular season on Monday.
