
Bourne CC - Groundcare Diary – Week ending May 17th 2020
Whilst we are in ‘lockdown’ we are following the Bourne CC Groundcare team (Clive Brown and Ian Greenfield) through the season as their ground maintenance programme progresses throughout the Spring and Summer in readiness for a Return to Cricket.
We caught up with them this week......
Maintenance Work carried out on the Abbey Lawn week ending 17 / 5
Mon - Removed germination sheet from No 9
Wed - Scarified the whole square {omitting the reseeded strip No9] across and with the direction of play, cylinder cut to 15mm omitting the reseeded strip. Watered reseeded strip, also watered No 5 strip in preparation for remedial work to be carried out. [poor grass growth]
Fri - Watered No 9 strip,
Deep scarified No5 strip with direction of play and at diagonals last pass in direction of play removing rubbish grass and creating seed drills,
Used Sorrel roller for half an hour on the strip.
Power brushed away any debris.
Reseeded the strip and covered with a light dusting of Ongar
Drag brushed the strip and watered for twenty minutes
Covered strip with germination sheet
