Sydney Thunder 133-9 (Neser 3-29) by 25 runs
20th match, Big Bash League, Sydney

Michael Neser and Rashid Khan shared five wickets between them as Adelaide Strikers went on to beat Sydney Thunder by 25 runs in the 20th game of the Big Bash League at Sydney Showground Stadium.

Adelaide Strikers won the toss and opt to bat. Jake Weatherald (15) scored two boundaries in the first two overs while Alex Carey (34) also struck two fours in the fourth over.

Gurinder Sandhu (2-28) provided the breakthrough when he had Weatherald caught behind and the Thunder did well to restrict the Strikers to 38 for two in the powerplay.

Fawad Ahmed (3-31) produced an eventful ninth over when he had Travis Head (12) caught in the deep and after conceding a six and a four to Carey, he also had him castled and at halfway mark, Adelaide Strikers were placed 69 for two.

Colin Ingram (48) played a vital 31 ball knock that had two boundaries and four maximums while an unbeaten six ball cameo from Rashid (16 not out) helped the Strikers reached 158 for seven in the 20 overs.

In the chase, Kurtis Patterson (29) and Jos Buttler (21) provided a solid opening stand of 45 runs off 41 deliveries but Rashid (2-21) triggered the collapse when he castled the latter.

Michael Neser (3-29) also controlled the middle overs and only Ben Rohrer (29) with his 13-ball cameo kept them in the hunt but a terrific last over from Peter Siddle (2-13) where he conceded just one run and picked two wickets sealed a 25-run victory for the Strikers.
