Bravo, Brathwaite fifties follow Bishoo five-fer as West Indies fight back

After a Devendra Bishoo five-fer bowled Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Patron’s XI for 308 runs, Kraigg Brathwaite and Darren Bravo scored fluent fifties to push the West Indies score to 174 for two at the end of day two of the tour match in Sharjah.
Resuming the innings on 241 for five, PCB Patron’s XI were led by Adnan Akmal’s (69) fifty as they went on to post 308 runs before being bowled out in 103.4 overs. Bishoo (5-107) was the standout bowler for West Indies with a five-fer.
In their first innings, West Indies had a decent start with a 34-run cautious opening stand in 18 overs. However, Leon Johnson (11) was unable to press on and was caught at third slip off Ahmed Jamal (1-23).
Brathwaite (55) and Bravo (73 not out) ensured that there were no hiccups as the pair added 82 runs for the second wicket.
Brathwaite fell a little while after his half-century, holing out to midwicket off Shahzaib Ahmed (1-51). Bravo joined hands with Shai Hope (24 not out) and put on an unbeaten 58-run stand for the third wicket.
Bravo went past his fifty and took West Indies to 174 for two in 74 overs at the end of day two, still trailing PCB Patron’s XI by 134 runs.
