New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has crossed the milestone of 6000 ODI runs during his 29-ball knock of 44 runs in the first One-Day International against Australia in Auckland.

Opening the innings, McCullum posted a 79-run opening stand with Martin Guptill and struck five boundaries and three sixes in his knock.

Only Nathan Astle and Stephen Fleming have more runs than McCullum, who also went past 6000 Test runs in the second Test against England at Headingley in 2015.

During his innings, McCullum also went past Indian captain MS Dhoni in the list of batsmen with most ODI sixes and is currently placed fifth with 194 hits over the fence.
