The Brisbane Heat will welcome back Test squad batsman Matt Renshaw for tomorrow night’s crucial KFC Big Bash League encounter with the Melbourne Stars at the MCG.

Renshaw, originally named in the 15-man Australian squad currently in action in the Domain First Test against Sri Lanka at the Gabba, was released to join the Heat squad for the start of a make-or-break week for the club.

The Heat will play four games in seven days – three away and one at home – as they seek to ignite a late tournament run.

The Heat’s run sees them take on the Stars tomorrow, the ladder-leading Hobart Hurricanes on Tuesday in Hobart, the Perth Scorchers on Friday night at the Gabba before travelling to Adelaide to take on the Strikers next Sunday.

Renshaw comes into the squad for fellow left-hander Sam Heazlett in the only change to the team beaten by the Sydney Sixers earlier this week.

His last game for Brisbane was the win over the Melbourne Renegades at Geelong.
