Carlos Brathwaite spoke to the media ahead of the West Indies v India T20I

West Indies captain Carlos Brathwaite spoke to members of the media ahead of the first T20 International against India. The series is the MyTeam11 Twenty20 International Series, co-sponsored by Skoda and Fena. First ball on Saturday at Broward County Stadium is 10:30am (9:30am Jamaica Time).

A capacity crowd is expected for the opening match as well as the second encounter on Sunday at the same venue. Brathwaite said the West Indies, as reigning ICC World T20 champions, will look to start on a winning note. He added that the team’s preparations went very well this week, interrupted only by inclement weather on Friday morning.

“We are well prepared for this series against India. We had some good preparation in the nets and on the outfield, so as a team, we feel we are ready for the challenge. We will look to make a positive start. We’re welcoming back Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard into the field, two very experienced players who have a wealth of knowledge on the international stage,” Brathwaite said.
