Carlos Brathwaite to leave Big Bash League for domestic competition
West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite will be heading back to Caribbean from Big Bash League to feature in the domestic 50-over competition after the final league game for Sydney Thunder against Adelaide Strikers at Sydney Showground Stadium on 18th January.
Brathwaite, who originally replaced his West Indian team-mate Andre Russell in the Sydney Thunder squad has picked five wickets from two matches and has been instrumental in the team's turnaround.
The 28-year-old, who will represent Barbados in Regional Super50 domestic one-day tournament confirmed the news to Daily Telegraph Australia.
"Unfortunately, I still have to go home on [Thursday] morning to play in the Super50 tournament," said Brathwaite.
Sydney Thunder are currently placed sixth in the table with three wins from seven games and will take on Adelaide Strikers in a must-win game.
