Chesterfield Festival To Take Place In September

Derbyshire County Cricket Club has moved quickly to ensure that first-class cricket does take place at Chesterfield this year despite the postponement of the original festival. The re-arranged festival will begin with a NatWest Pro40 match against Durham Dynamos on Tuesday 4th September and will continue with the LV County Championship fixture against Nottinghamshire from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th September. The match against Durham Dynamos at Queen’s Park will begin at 12.45pm with the Championship fixture against Nottinghamshire starting at 10.30am on all four days. Chief Executive Tom Sears said: “We are delighted that we have been able to reschedule the Chesterfield Festival so quickly to give everyone the chance to make arrangements for later in the season. “I would like to thank Chesterfield Borough Council, Chesterfield Cricket Club, Durham, Nottinghamshire and the ECB for their understanding and cooperation and we now look forward to a very successful festival week, albeit slightly later that planned.” © Derbyshire CCC
