A blistering unbeaten 80 run unbeaten knock from Luis Reece and an all-round performance from Sikandar Raza powered Chittagong Vikings to a 45-run victory against Rajshahi Kings in their final league game of the Bangladesh Premier League in Dhaka.

Rajshahi won the toss and decided to bowl first. Luke Ronchi (42) dominated the powerplay phase for Chittagong as he struck three sixes and four boundaries as Reece (80 not out) was settling at the other end. By the end of six overs, Chittagong were positioned 63 for one.

Mehedi Hasan (2-18) provided the breakthrough when he had Ronchi caught at deep square leg in the eighth over and returned back to castle Soumya Sarkar (17) in the 14th.

The promotion of Raza (42 not out) rubbed off on Reece as the duo plundered unbeaten 86 runs off just 40 deliveries and together struck five each of sixes and fours to take the total to 194 for two.

In response, Rajshahi Kings were jolted early as Sunzamul Islam (2-14) removed both the openers Mominul Haque (9) and Rony Talukdar (6).

A 26-ball majestic knock from Samit Patel (62) tried to keep Rajshahi in the game but with not much support from the other end, they could manage only 149 for nine in their chase. Raza (4-16) was the pick of the Chittagong bowlers while Sunzamul snared two.

Both Chittagong and Rajshahi were already out of contention for the play-offs.
