West Indian opening batsman Chris Gayle will miss the second and final Test against Bangladesh in Saint Lucia that begins tomorrow (13th September).

Gayle will be absent for the match, which is the West Indies' 500th Test, after being given permission by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to deal with a personal matter.

Uncapped batsman Leon Johnson comes into the squad to replace Gayle, who scored 64 and nine not out during the West Indies' 10-wicket win in the opening Test in Saint Vincent.

The squad is otherwise unchanged from the team that put them 1-0 up in the two-game series.

Johnson has played three One-Day Internationals for the West Indies and was an unused squad member earlier this summer when the New Zealanders toured.

With no other batsmen in the squad who did not play the opening game, he looks set to make his Test debut and could open alongside Kraigg Brathwaite, unless Kirk Edwards or Jermaine Blackwood are pushed up the order.

West Indies Test squad: Denesh Ramdin (captain/wicket-keeper), Sulieman Benn, Jermaine Blackwood, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Kirk Edwards, Shannon Gabriel, Jason Holder, Leon Johnson, Kemar Roach, Shane Shillingford, Jerome Taylor
