Durham 318-5 (Collingwood 93no) v Kent
County Championship Division Two, Canterbury, day one

Paul Collingwood and Ryan Pringle scored knocks of 93 and 71 respectively as Durham went on to post 318 for five at stumps on day one against Kent in the County Championship Division Two in Canterbury.

Durham won the toss and decided to bat first. Stephen Cook (25) and Keaton Jennings (43) added a solid 79 run opening stand to lay a solid platform to the innings.

Cameron Stell (34) continued from his previous innings where he scored his maiden century but a double strike from Darren Stevens (2-55) dented Durham's hopes as they were reduced to 148 for four in 46 overs.

This is when Collingwood (93 not out) and Pringle (71) joined together for a 141 run stand for the fifth wicket to help the team recover. Matt Coles (2-72) provided some respite for Kent with the wicket of Pringle but Collingwood carried on as he is seven runs short of another century this season.

Durham ended the day at 318 for five from the 96 overs bowled. Stevens and Coles were the pick of the Kent bowlers having picked two wickets apiece.
