New Zealand resumed their innings on the overnight score of 154 for four. After adding 28 runs in the first eight overs of the day along with Doug Bracewell (34), Kane Williamson (49) retired.

Bracewell followed suit two overs later. In the next over, Trent Boult (2) was castled by Tatenda Mupunga (1-37) following which New Zealand declared with the score reading 201 for seven after 51.1 overs.

Facing a target of 433 runs, Zimbabwe A lost Nkosana Mpofu (6) in the eighth over. Vusi Sibanda (37) and Sikandar Raza (11) took Zimbabwe A to 46 for one at lunch.

In the second over of the second session, Sibanda was dismissed by Neil Wagner (2-19), who also accounted for Raza in his next over leaving Zimbabwe A at 54 for three.

Sean Williams (46) and Regis Chakabva (48) shared a 91-run stand and scored runs at a decent pace.

However, the wicket of Williams in the 50th over led to a batting collapse and Zimbabwe A lost their last seven wickets in quick succession and were bowled out for 173 runs in 61.5 overs, handing New Zealand a 259-run win.
