The 4th match of Men's Hundred will be played between Northern Superchargers and Welsh Fire at Emerald Headingley on Saturday July 24th 2021.
The biggest star of The Hundred, Ben Stokes is Northern Superchargers' only centrally-contracted Test player. Despite a serious finger injury - not fully healed after surgery - Stokes is expected to play two matches.
Once Ben leaves, the spotlight will fall on overseas players Faf du Plessis (South Africa), Chris Lynn (Australia) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Afghanistan). Former Proteas skipper du Plessis has been appointed the team's captain.
Northern Superchargers have a host of domestic talent in Adil Rashid, David Willey, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Adam Lyth, Brydon Carse, John Simpson, Matthew Potts, Matthew Fisher, Harry Brook, Callum Parkinson, Jordan Thompson and Ben Raine.
England's centrally-contracted Test player Ollie Pope is part of Welsh Fire but is an injury doubt for both The Hundred and the Test series against India.
Welsh Fire's overseas players Qais Ahmad (Afghanistan), Glenn Phillips (New Zealand), Jimmy Neesham (New Zealand) might be low key, but have the ability to effect the results on their own.
What Welsh Fire lack in their overseas picks, will be made up with the homegrown ability of Jonny Bairstow, Tom Banton, Jake Ball, Ben Duckett, Ian Cockbain, Josh Cobb, Matt Critchley, Leus du Plooy, Liam Plunkett, David Payne, Ryan Higgins and David Lloyd.
