Live Scores and Stats - New Zealand vs West Indies 2020 - 1st T20I

There are a lot of absentees in the T20I series between New Zealand and West Indies. Talking about New Zealand first, there is a big hole for the team to fill at the top of the order itself with Colin Munro being unavailable due to his Big Bash League commitments.

Kane Williamson is also not part of the T20I side to get some much required rest after a hectic IPL. Same is the case with Trent Boult who finished as the second-highest wicket-taker for Mumbai Indians.

The Kiwis will also miss the services of all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme, who has not yet recovered from injury. As a result, all-rounders Jimmy Neesham and Mitchell Santner will have to do a lot of heavy lifting for the home side.

Kyle Jamieson is expected to make his T20I debut in this game.

Like New Zealand, West Indies are also missing the services of Johnson Charles, Evin Lewis, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle and Andre Russell, to name a few.

Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran will be their talismen with the bat alongside skipper Kieron Pollard while Sheldon Cottrell will lead their bowling attack.

Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams:

New Zealand - Tim Seifert (wk), Martin Guptill, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Ross Taylor, Jimmy Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee (c), Kyle Jamieson, Lockie Ferguson, Ish Sodhi

West Indies - Andre Fletcher, Brandon King, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Rovman Powell/Kyle Mayers, Kieron Pollard (c), Keemo Paul, Sheldon Cottrell, Hayden Walsh, Fabian Allen/Oshane Thomas, Kesrick Williams
