Cricket Betting Tips and Fantasy Cricket Predictions: India vs England 2021 - 1st T20I
The 1st T20I of the five-match series between England and India will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad in India.
India are expected to go in with KL Rahul as Rohit Sharma's opening partner, with Virat Kohli and one of Shreyas Iyer or Suryakumar Yadav in the middle order. Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant will perform the role of the finisher, with the latter taking the gloves as well.
India are expected to go in with two spin bowling all rounders in Washington Sundar and Axar Patel in Jadeja's absence. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal will be the leading bowlers for India.
England are expected to prefer spin bowling all rounder Moeen Ali over pace bowling all rounder Tom Curran. At number four, Jonny Bairstow is expected to get the nod over Sam Billings.
There isn't a lot of similarity in terms of personnel in the England test squad and the T20I contingent which gives reason to believe that the T20I squad would be relatively unscathed from what transpired in the last 3 matches of the recently concluded 4-match test series as India won by massive margins of 10 wickets and an innings in the last two tests respectively, at the same venue in Ahmedabad.
England captain Eoin Morgan said at the pre match presser that he hopes for spinning tracks to help his team prepare for the T20 World Cup in October-November in India. England though don't need to lose sleep over turning tracks, as spin, if any, will not be extreme in the T20Is.
Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams:
India - KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli (c), Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur/Deepak Chahar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal
England - Jos Buttler (wk), Jason Roy, Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan (c), Sam Curran, Moeen Ali, Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer/Mark Wood, Adil Rashid
