The 3rd ODI of the three-match series between England and India will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune in India.
LIVE - India vs England 2021 - 3rd ODI
What England failed to achieve in the first ODI, they did it with panache in the 2nd ODI as the team chased down 337 runs with six and a half overs to spare on the back of some sensational power hitting from Ben Stokes Jonny Bairstow.
Batting under lights has been quite comfortable for the England batsmen, not to take anything from their ability, of course. The dew has hampered the Indian spinners as they haven't found any purchase out of the surface.
In the second ODI, Kuldeep Yadav bowled well but just had nowhere to hide on a surface on which the ball was coming gun barrel straight and the batting was of the highest order. Likewise, Krunal Pandya conceded 72 runs from 6 overs and is set to get the boot.
India are likely to bring in Yuzvendra Chahal in place of Kuldeep Yadav and replace all-rounder Krunal Pandya with T Natarajan. The team does not have any option but to include a specialist bowler at the risk of weakening their batting after the kind of mayhem that was on display from the England batsmen in the 2nd ODI.
For England, Mark Wood will return to the playing XI in place of Tom Curran. Reece Topley did well with figures of 8-0-50-2 in the 2nd ODI and will retain his spot.
There is little doubt that England will continue to go hard in the final match and it will be interesting to see how India counter that.
Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams:
India - Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli(c), KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant(wk), Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna, T Natarajan
England - Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Dawid Malan, Jos Buttler(c & wk), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Reece Topley
