However, the Windies played like they were expected to play, only after the entire Test series and ODI series has gone by. But, they bounced back very strongly, as Sheldon Cottrell broke the back of the Bangladesh batting line up.
It was only due to the efforts of Shakib Al Hasan that the Bangladesh team was able to score 129. In reply, the Windies batsmen were is no mood to spare the Bangladeshi bowlers. Shai Hope, who has been in red-hot form, played at a strike rate of over 200 and blasted six sixes. Nicholas Pooran and Keemo Paul scored unbeaten 20s to take the team over the line with half the overs remaining.
Evin Lewis has been drafted back into the Windies lineup and this has strengthened their batting further as they had been fiddling with likes of Denesh Ramdin at the top.
With the beating that Bangladesh have taken, it would be very difficult for them to bounce back. However, given that they are a solid outfit, that should also not come as a surprise. Still, one would back Windies as they have the power hitters and the bowling to pull it through. Don't forget, this is their most favoured format.
