Both teams are coming off losses and would look to gain back momentum. Along with that, both the teams would suffer a lot because of their key players missing out on the coming matches as they have been picked for the Australian ODI squad.
For Adelaide Strikers, Alex Carey, Billy Stanlake and Peter Siddle will miss out. However, they would be boosted by the fact that Travis Head has not been included in the ODIs and would return.
Head would open the batting along with Jake Weatherald, who has shown sparks of brilliance, especially in his half-century against Sydney Sixers and has scored more than 200 runs in the tournaments. Colin Ingram also impressed with a 43-ball 75 against Sydney Thunder.
When it comes to bowling, spinner Rashid Khan would be the leader of the pack. Rashid has not only picked up ten six wickets from six matches but has bowled at an economy of under five which is golddust in T20s. He will get support from Michael Neser and Ben Laughlin.
After missing the services of Sandeep Lamichhane who has flown off to be a part of the Bangladesh Premier League, Melbourne Stars will also miss out on Peter Handscomb, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa.
A couple of their players have been down with injuries. This has hampered the depth of the lineup. In their absence, Ben Dunk has stepped up as the opener scored a 47-ball 62 the last time around. All-rounders Dwayne Bravo and Liam Plunkett will form the backbone of the team.
