Hong Kong were steamrolled in the last match by Pakistan and they would have to pull off something special to avoid it being repeated.

India and Hong Kong have only played once in a Asia Cup match at Karachi in 2008. Batting first, India put up a huge score of 374 on the board. Hong Kong crumbled under scoreboard pressure and were folded up for 118.

Sri Lanka have just been knocked out of the Asia Cup after consecutive losses against Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Hong Kong could very well meet the same fate if they do not play out of their skin.

Given that India are slated to play Pakistan the very next day, they are expected to rest some of their key players. Jasprit Bumrah is expected to be given a rest as he has played three Test matches on a trot in England. Shardul Thakur or Khaleel Ahmed will get a game in his place.

The team management may also try to keep Kuldeep Yadav fresh for the game against Pakistan and Axar Patel can get a look in.

For Hong Kong, captain Anshuman Rath and Babar Hayat are the two most experienced batsman. Ehsaas Khan also gave a glimpse of his all-round talent in the last match. With the ball, Ehsan Khan, Tanvir Afzal and Nadeem Ahmed will be key.

Here are the probable playing XIs for both teams.

India- Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma (c), Lokesh Rahul, Ambati Rayudu/Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur, Khaleel Ahmed

Hong Kong - Nizakat Khan, Anshuman Rath (c), Babar Hayat, Kinchit Shah, Christopher Carter, Ehsan Khan, Aizaz Khan, Scott McKechnie (wk), Tanwir Afzal, Ehsan Nawaz, Nadeem Ahmed
