Cricket Betting Tips and Match Prediction - Global T20 Canada 2019 - Toronto Nationals v Vancouver Knights

Rassie van der Dussen playing for Vancouver Knights in the GT20 Canada

The tournament opener of the second season of the Global T20 Canada league will be played between Toronto Nationals and Vancouver Knights at the CAA Centre, Brampton in Ontario.

Vancouver Knights not only went on to win the Global T20 Canada title last year but also ended at the top of the points table after the league stage with four wins and one loss from six matches. On the contrary, Toronto Nationals returned with the wooden spoon, winning only two, while losing four of their six games.

Incidentally, the Knights had lost to Toronto in the opening match of the tournament last year, but then turned their fortune around with consistent performances. In the playoffs, they lost their first game against Winnipeg Hawks but made amends to win the final against the CWI B Team by three wickets.

The team has retained a lot of players who took them to success last year with West Indian T20 stars Chris Gayle and Andre Russell still in the ranks. Power-hitters Chadwick Walton and Rassie van der Dussen also find themselves in the squad. Among the bowlers, the USA's Ali Khan will be key. Khan made a name for himself last year and has vastly developed his death bowling skills.

Kieron Pollard and skipper Brendon McCullum will be the biggest names in Toronto Nationals' batting order, alongside Yuvraj Singh, who has recently retired from international cricket and the IPL and will be the star attraction for the fans.

With World Cup runners-up Trent Boult not available, the Nationals' bowling will be shouldered by young Nepalese leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane.

Let's have a look at the squads of both teams:

Toronto Nationals- Yuvraj Singh, Chirag Suri, Ravinderpal Singh, Salman Nazar, Rodrigo Thomas, Kieron Pollard, Calum MacLeod, Chris Green, Jasdeep Singh, Brendon McCullum, Heinrich Klaasen, Ghulam Shabber, Trent Boult, Manpreet Gony, Sandeep Lamichhane, Jeremy Gordon, Mark Montfort

Vancouver Knights- Chris Gayle, Rassie van der Dussen, Rizwan Cheema, Shoaib Malik, Hayden Walsh, Andre Russell, Daniel Sams, JJ Smit, Chadwick Walton, Tobias Visee, Tim Southee, Michael Rippon, Ali Khan, Saad Bin Zafar, Rayyan Pathan, Harsh Thaker
