Cricket Betting Tips and Match Prediction KFC Big Bash League 2019-20 - Melbourne Stars v Hobart Hurricanes
The 8th match of the Big Bash League 2019-20 will be played between Melbourne Stars and Hobart Hurricanes at the Ted Summerton Reserve, Moe in Victoria.
Melbourne Stars started off their campaign this season quite late and played the first match of this edition against Brisbane Heat on Friday. The team won that match by 22 runs, courtesy of an all-round performance.
The Stars batted first and things looked shaky for them at 74-4. Skipper Glenn Maxwell, returning from his mental health break, then came to the crease. Maxwell felt at ease and timed the ball well from ball one. His 39-ball 83 ensured that Stars had enough runs on the board, 167 to be exact, for their bowlers to fight and they did in some style.
Daniel Worrall and Haris Rauf picked up two wickets each while leg spinner Adam Zampa returned with three scalps. 26-year-old Pakistan pacer Rauf impressed with his searing pace.
As expected, opener D Arcy Short was the highest run-scorer for Hobart Hurricanes in their last match with a 40-ball 51, when other batters were finding it tough to get going. As a result, Hurricanes could manage only 129 runs, a below par total.
However, their bowlers stepped up to the plate. James Faulkner and Simon Milenko picked up two wickets each while bowling economically, but it was Afghanistan leg spinner Qais Ahmad who impressed the most with figures of 4-12-4. Ahmad ensured that the Hurricanes won the game by 25 runs.
Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams:
Hobart Hurricanes - D Arcy Short, Caleb Jewell, Ben McDermott (c & wk), David Miller, George Bailey, Simon Milenko, James Faulkner, Nathan Ellis, Qais Ahmad, Clive Rose, Riley Meredith
