Cricket Betting Tips and Match Prediction Royal London One-Day Cup 2019 semi-final- Nottinghamshire v Somerset

Alex Hales

The first of the two semi-finals of the Royal London One-Day Cup will be played between Nottinghamshire and Somerset at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The venue of the match has seen some of the highest scoring games of recent times. The match between Notts and Lancashire saw 823 runs in total being scored in the same match. Trent Bridge has also been witness to some of greatest run fests of the English national team.

Notts topped their group leadersboard in the group stage, winning six out of the eight matches. Somerset, on the other hand, started on a good note with four consecutive victories but then went on to lose their following three matches.

It was Somerset's win against Surrey that helped them to reach the quarter-finals. However, they hit their straps running in the quarters, registering a 147-run victory against Worcestershire.

Nottinghamshire have won three out of their last five matches, while Somerset have won two. Out of the last five matches played between the two teams, Notts have won three times, with Somerset winning once and one match being washed out.

Ben Slater is expected to come in for Ben Duckett and Harry Gurney for Matthew Carter for Nottinghamshire, while Somerset are likely to go unchanged.

Samit Patel, Alex Hales and skipper Steven Mullaney are the leading batsmen for Notts, while James Pattinson, Jake Ball and Luke Fletcher will be their key bowlers.

Tom Banton and Azhar Ali are expected to be the top run-getters for Somerset. Azhar Ali also showed his bowling skills in the quarter-final with a fifer. Craig Overton and Jamie Overton will lead the bowling pack of Somerset.

Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams.
