Cricket Betting Tips and Match Prediction- Scotland v Sri Lanka 1st ODI
The first of the two ODIs between Sri Lanka and Scotland will be played at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh.
Scotland will certainly have the home advantage going into this game but that did not seem to help the last time when the team clashed against Sri Lanka at the same venue, losing by a massive margin of 183. The other ODI between the two teams was at the 2015 ICC World Cup which was played in Australia's Hobart, where the Lankans trumped Scotland by 148 runs.
Scotland will bank on their top three Matthew Cross, Kyle Coetzer and Calum MacLeod to put some big runs on the board. Going by the 2nd ODI between Scotland and Afghanistan played at this venue, when the hosts ran Afghanistan close, the match is expected to be a high scoring one.
Alasdair Evans and Safyaan Sharif will be the frontline bowlers for Scotland. Evans has 54 wickets from 37 matches.
With the likes of Angelo Mathews, Lasith Malinga and Thisara Perera expected to be available for this match, Sri Lanka have a lot more experience and pedigree in their ranks. Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera will further strengthen their batting. Suranga Lakmal and Malinga will lead their bowling attack.
While Sri Lanka will be going into the match as favourites, given the surprises that Scotland have dished out in recent times, an upset cannot be ruled out.
Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams.
