Cricket Betting Tips and Match Prediction- South Africa v Sri Lanka 2nd Test
Sri Lanka's Test win in the first Test at Durban was truly historic but from the predictions point of you it is worth remembering that matches such as this are far and few between them and expecting a repeat of that isn't a very realistic idea.
Apart from the natural skill, luck and other auxiliary factors also play a huge role in any outcome. On a day when conditions were conducive for a seam and swing bowler such as Vernon Philander, he could not bowl because of a hamstring injury and that played massively in the hands of Sri Lanka.
Taking no credit away from Kusal Perera, who smashed career best 153, to take Sri Lanka over the line by one wicket but it was one of those occasions when everything fell in place for the visitors.
Dale Steyn is looking good and he will be a big asset for South Africa in the next Test. He will definitely get great support from Kagiso Rabada and Duanne Olivier. Kishan Maharaj also bowled well in the first Test but did not get too many wickets to show for.
Knocks from Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock and to a lesser extent, Dean Elgar, Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram also give enough evidence that South Africa will be the favourites in the second Test.
As for Sri Lanka, they would expect captain Dimuth Karunaratne, Lahiru Thirimanne, Kusal Mendis and wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella to do the bulk of the scoring. Suranga Lakmal, Vishwa Fernando, Kasun Rajitha and Lasith Embuldeniya will shoulder the bowling attack.
Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams.
