For an review of the 1st T20 match report West Indies v Ireland
The 1st T20I at Saint George's Park proved to be a thriller. After getting close to a win and not being able to close the game out in the second ODI, Ireland finished on the right side of the line this time around, registering a 4-run win.
The win will certainly give them a lot of confidence and momentum in a short 3-match series. Paul Stirling was at his destructive best, raking up a 47-ball 95, his highest T20I score. He got great support from fellow opener Kevin O'Brien who scored 48 at a strike rate of 150.
There were sparks of brilliance from each of the West Indian top 6 batsmen but none of them could go on to make a big score like Stirling.
Apart from Stirling, Joshua Little proved to be the star for Ireland and defended 13 runs in the last over while dismissing the dangerous Sherfane Rutherford and Dwayne Bravo.
Dwayne Bravo was also praiseworthy on comeback. Bravo was the most impressive bowler for West Indies but he would have loved to take the team home with the bat.
Ireland may consider dropping Barry McCarthy who was very expensive in the first T20I and include either of Boyd Rankin or Mark Adair in his place.
Despite Kesrick William leaking runs in the last match, West Indies do not have any other bowler on the bench and will have to go in with the same XI.
Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams:
West Indies - Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Sherfane Rutherford, Dwayne Bravo, Hayden Walsh, Khary Pierre, Sheldon Cottrell, Kesrick Williams
