The 7th match of the Women's Big Bash League 2019 will be played between Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat at the North Sydney Oval in Sydney.

Sydney Thunder did not have the ideal start to their Women's Big Bash League 2019 campaign as they suffered a massive 49-run loss to Sydney Sixers in the opening encounter. Such a loss not only effects the net run rate but is a huge dent on the confidence of the team.

Led by Ellyse Perry's whirlwind half-century, Sydney Sixers posted 192 runs on the board. Most of Sydney Thunder bowlers went for 10 or more runs per over. Shabnim Ismail and Rene Farrell were the only two bowlers that were able to hold their own and went at less than 8 rpo.

Despite a fighting half-century from Alex Blackwell in the middle order, Thunder never looked in the game and fell short by a huge margin of 49 runs.

Brisbane Heat enter the season as defending champions. They finished the league stage in WBBL 2018 with 9 wins and 5 losses and then went on to win the final handsomely.

Jemma Barsby, Josie Dooley, Sune Luus and Laura Wolvaardt are not available for the team this time around but they have roped in two exciting imports in New Zealand leg-spinner Amelia Kerr and batter Maddy Green. The two Kiwis will complement the likes of Jess Jonassen, Beth Mooney and Delissa Kimmince.

Let's have a look at the probable playing XIs of both teams:

Sydney Thunder- Rachael Haynes, Rachel Priest, Samantha Bates, Alex Blackwell, Nida Dar, Lisa Griffith, Hannah Darlington, Rene Farrell, Shabnim Ismail, Phoebe Litchfield, Naomi Stalenberg

Brisbane Heat- Beth Mooney, Kirby Short, Grace Harris, Jess Jonassen, Maddy Green, Mikayla Hinkley, Laura Harris, Amelia Kerr, Sammy-Jo Johnson, Delissa Kimmince, Georgia Prestwidge
