The 16^th match of the Abu Dhabi T10 2021 will be played between Maratha Arabians and Qalandars at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Qalandars have been in terrific form off late and they finished at the number 1 spot on Group A’s points table with 3 wins to their name.

In their last completed match against Deccan Gladiators, Qalandars lost the toss and were asked to have a bat first. Tom Banton continued his form from last games and scored an impressive 36 off 20 deliveries but the other opener Sharjeel Khan lost his wicket cheaply. Sohail Akhtar who came in at number 3 smashed the Deccan bowlers all around the ground and collected 71 runs in just 31 deliveries. Riding on this unbelievable knock, Qalandars posted a respectable total of 118 for 3 on the board in 10 overs.

Deccan Gladiators did not look comfortable chasing 118 right from the start of their innings. The opening partnership between Cameron Delport and Mohammad Shahzad showed some intent but once they fell, the middle order simply collapsed, courtesy a tight bowling from Shahid Afridi and Sultan Ahmed. Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine and the other vital batsmen could not threaten the opposition and fell in quick succession. Chris Jordan put a nail in the coffin with his spell of 2 overs as he picked up 3 wickets and helped restrict Deccan Gladiators to 85 for 8 in 10 overs as they lost the match by 33 runs.

Maratha Arabians on the other hand started off very well in the tournament with a convincing win against Northern Warriors but lost their way afterwards and lost the next 2 matches. They finished at the number 4 spot on Group A’s points table.

In their last match against Bangla Tigers, Maratha Arabians lost the toss and were asked to bat first. The openers ensured they did not lose a single wicket in their 10 over period but the run rate with which they batted would come and haunt them later in the match. Mohammad Hafeez scored an impressive 61 off 30 deliveries but Abdul Shakoor’s innings was slow paced. He took 30 balls for making 36 runs and Maratha Arabians finished their innings with a total of 103 on the board without the loss of any wicket.

On a batting friendly pitch, it was always going to be an easy chase for Bangla Tigers. Johnston Charles and Andre Fletcher provided a wonderful start to Tigers as they collected 33 runs between them for the 1^st wicket partnership. Afif Hossain carried on the momentum after the loss of a wicket and smashed 22 runs off just 10 deliveries. Chirag Suri also played an important role with his knock of 19 off 7 balls and Bangla Tigers chased the total quite comfortably in the end with 6 wickets in hand and 2 overs to spare.
