Malaysia Womenstarted off well with the ball and the team was elated at the dismissal of Chamari Atapattu. However, they could not maintain the pressure built byAtapattu’s departure. Harshitha Madavi played a fantastic knock of 65 off 42 balls to take Sri Lanka’s total past 170 to 175 for 3 in 20 overs.
Chasing a mammoth total of 175, Winifred Duraisingam played very well and prized her wicket. She made an unbeaten 42 off 54 balls but she kept losing partners at the other end. With no support from the other end, it became almost impossible for Duraisingam to go for the chase. In the end, Malaysia Women were restricted to 82 for 7, losing the match by 93 runs.
