LIVE - Botswana Women vs Nigeria Women

Current Form Botswana Women:

Botswana Women were humbled by Namibia Women in their last fixture. They lost the match by 65 runs.

Bowling first, Botswana Women conceded 155 runs in 20 overs. For Namibia Women, Sune Wittmann was the top run scorer as she smashed 93 off just 61 balls. This is the highest score by any player in the tournament. Yasmeen Khan gave Wittmann a good compnay and scored 31 off 28 balls. At the back of these phenomenal performances, Namibia Women put on a commendable and formidable total on the board in their quota of 20 overs.

Chasing a mammoth 155, Botswana Women started off cautiously as both the openers were keen on preserving their wicket rather than going for the target. Kayleen Green dismissed Florence Samanyika at 14. Shameelah Mosweu fought hard with her knock of 29 runs but she lacked support from the other end to chase down the total. After her dismissal, Botswana Women simply surrendered to a brilliant display of bowling by Namibia and got restricted to 90 for 7 in 20 overs, losing the match by 65 runs.

Current Form Nigeria Women:

Nigeria Women suffered a defeat at the hands of Rwanda Women in their last game.

Bowling first, Nigeria Women restricted Rwanda Women to a total of 109 for 7 in 20 overs. The opening pair collected 27 runs for the first wicket. However, they came at a leisurely pace and Rwanda Women were starving for some acceleration. Henriette Ishimwe at number 3 provided the acceleration needed and smashed 24 off 23 balls. She was given great company by Cathia Uwamahoro who made 17 in 11 balls. The lower middle order could not deliver the cameo that was needed and Rwanda Women slipped to an under par total in their assigned quota of 20 overs.

Chasing 109, Nigeria Women started off cautiously with the opening pair failing to fully utilize the powerplay overs. Blessing Etim at number 3 was also dismissed cheaply. Salome Sunday showed promise for chasing down the total but was dismissed unfortunately at a wrong time. Agatha Obulor fought hard with her knock of 12 but it was not enough as Nigeria Women fell short by just 6 runs.
