The 6th match of the BYJU’s KCA Club Championship 2022 will take place on the 3rd of May 2022 between Prathibha Cricket Club and Jolly Rovers at the SD College Cricket Ground, Alappuzha.

Prathibha Cricket Club lost their last fixture against Masters RCC in a super over.

Masters RCC won the toss and elected to field first. Prathibha Cricket Club got off to a decent start as they collected 45 runs during the powerplay overs although they had lost 2 wickets.

Sreenath K played a fine knock of 55 in 34 balls in the middle order. He batted superbly but he was often losing partners at the other end causing the run rate to suffer. The middle order and lower order could not really capitalize on the start they got and eventually they were restricted to an under par total of 146 for 7 in 20 overs.

For Masters RCC, Ajith V picked up 3 wickets for 30 runs.

During the chase, Masters RCC batted with full flow right from the word go. Their openers Sanjay Raj and K A Ajith were in the mood to finish the match early in their favour. Raj made 63 off 48 while Ajith scored 28 off 29 balls. Ponnan Rahul at number 4 also played an important knock of 27 in 18 balls. He stayed not out but failed to get his team over the line as the scored were tied at the end of Master RCC’s innings.

The result was decided through a super over which Masters RCC won comfortably by 8 runs.

Current Form Jolly Rovers:

Jolly Rovers have lost their second consecutive match of the tournament. The latest defeat came at the hands of AGORC who beat them by 10 runs.

AGORC won the toss and elected to have a bat first. They got off to a terrible start, losing both the openers at a total of 26 runs. This is when Sachin Baby came to the crease and partnered with skipper Akhil MS to revive the innings. Baby made impressive 50 runs in 39 balls. His innings featured 3 fours and as many sixes. AK Arjun in the middle order also played a wonderful cameo of 27 in 10 balls. He remained not out and took the team’s total past the 145 run mark to 149 for 8 in 20 overs.

For Jolly Rovers, Mohammed Safeer picked up 3 wickets for 41 runs.

During the chase, Sachin Baby removed Anand Krishnan on the first of the second innings. Post his dismissal, Vathsal Govind Sharma and V-K V Sreerag collected 77 runs for the 2^nd wicket partnership before Sreerag was dismissed by Midhun. Vathsal Govind Sharma kept timing the ball really well and made sure he stayed at the crease until the end. Rabin Krishna M and Govind Sharma tried their best to take Jolly Rovers over the line but failed as they were restricted to 139 for 4 in 20 overs, losing the match by 10 runs.

For AGORC, Sudhesan Midhun picked up 2 wickets for 23 runs.
