Bulls XI batted first and put on a total of 194 for 4 in 20 overs. Vikneshwaran Marimuthu continued his form from where he left off in the last game and smashed 68 off 35 balls. P Sirendiran in the middle order scored 72 off 48 balls. On the back of these two brilliant knocks, Bulls XI reached a competitive total of 194 for 4 in 20 overs.

During the chase, Lions XI lost 2 wickets early on for just 14 runs on the board. They looked in great trouble at that moment. Krishna Pandey smashed 47 off 17 balls and gave some hope to his team for a successful chase. S Parameeswaran also supported him well as he made 52 off 40 balls. After these two batters got dismissed, Lions XI simply crumbled to the pressure. They were eventually restricted to 181 for 8 in 20 overs, as Lions XI lost the match by 13 runs.
