During the chase, Nepal started off well with Kushal Bhurtel and Asif Sheikh finding the boundaries early on. Both the openers were dismissed in the powerplay overs and Nepal found themselves in a bit of bother. Rohit Kumar Paudel and Dipendra Singh Airee got dismissed cheaply and Nepal now looked completely out of the game. Aarif Sheikh played a great innings of 50 in 84 and stayed not out but failed to take his team over the line, as Nepal were bowled out for 180, losing the match by 40 runs.

Scotland batted first and got off to a terrible start. Opener Matthew Cross was dismissed in the 2nd over. Post his dismissal, Kyle Coetzer and Callum MacLeod tried to revive the innings with their 18 run stand for the 2nd wicket. Once MacLeod got out, it triggered an unimaginable collapse of the Scottish batting line-up. Scotland went from being 22 for 1 to 65 for 7, with all their quality batters back into the pavilion. Gavin Main played an incredible knock under pressure as he scored 64 off 59 balls. On the back of his effort, Scotland reached a total of 144 before being bowled out.
During the chase, Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh batted with a lot of courage and composure. They rotated the strike well and always kept Scotland under the pump. Aasif Sheikh made a brilliant 71 off 62 balls. Nepal lost a couple of wickets in a hurry in middle overs but Rohit Kumar Paudel at number 4 held the innings together and made 34 not out off 31 balls to take his team home comfortably in the 26th over with 5 wickets in hand.
