The 3rd ODI of the ICC Men’s World Cup League 2 will take place between Oman and USA at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Muscat, Oman.

Oman beat Nepal comfortably in their first outing of the tournament.

Bowling first, Oman restricted Nepal for a modest total of 196. Nepal’s first match hero Kushal Bhurtel could not fire this time and was dismissed for a golden duck by Bilal Khan. Aasif Sheikh played a phenomenal innings of 90 in 112 balls but apart from him, no other Nepal batters posed any challenge to the opposition with the bat. For Oman, Bilal Khan picked up 4 wickets for 47 runs in his spell of 4 overs.

 

Chasing 196, the Oman opener Jatinder Singh went all guns blazing right from the word go. He smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground and made 107 in just 62 balls before being dismissed by Kushal Malla. On the back of his monumental effort, Nepal chased the total in the 32^nd over with 5 wickets in hand.

USA lost their first game of the ICC World Cricket League 2 against Nepal by 5 wickets.

 

Bowling first, Nepal restricted USA at 230 for 9 in 50 overs. For USA, Monank Patel was the standout batter who made a well-deserved 100 off  114 balls. The middle order could not leave much impact and Patel was always running short of partners at the other end. For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane bowled a terrific spell of 10 overs, giving away just 35 runs and picking up 2 important wickets. Sushan Bhari also bowled well and picked up 2 wickets for 31 runs.

 

Chasing 230, Nepal got off to a good start as the opening pair added 66 runs for the first wicket partnership. Kushal Bhurtel played a fantastic innings of 84 in just 93 balls. Nepal looked comfortable in the middle overs as Rohit Kumar Paudel along with Binod Bhandari slowly approached towards the target. Both the batters put their foot on the accelerator when the time came and Nepal comfortably reached the target with 1 over to spare and 5 wickets in hand. Paudel made an unbeaten 62 to take his team home.
