In the last encounter played between the two teams, Central Stags came out victorious by a huge margin of 118 runs and are expected to repeat their heroics. George Worker, Will Young and Tom Bruce would be the key batsmen for Central Districts.
Captain Bruce is the leading run-getter for the side this season and scored an unbeaten 88 in the team's first match against the Northern Knights. Young smashed a 43-ball 79 in a match against Otago Volts last season.
When it comes to bowling, Seth Rance, Ben Wheeler and Blair Tickner are the pacers that will take on the Volts' batsmen. Rance fared well against the Volts in the last season while Tickner also looks in great rhythm.
Otago Volts will look towards Neil Broom to get them off to a good start. The opener missed the last match due to an injury and is expected to be back. Apart from him, Hamish Rutherford, Anaru Kitchen and Shawn Hicks will to do the bulk of the scoring. Kitchen has looked quite convincing in the previous matches.
Skipper Jacob Duffy has been bowling well and has bagged five wickets from three matches which also includes a three-wicket haul against Northern Knights. Matthew Bacon has also had a good run against the Volts in the previous seasons.
Let's have a look at the probable playing XIs of both teams.
