However, T20I remains the strongest format for the Windies. The shorter the format gets, the better team they become. In fact, Windies have beaten India five times out of the seven matches that both teams have been a part of.
Their strength will certainly be reduced to some extent by the absence of stalwarts like Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Evin Lewis but they still have a lot of fire-power in their ranks.
Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell will be back for the T20Is. Russell brings a lot with him as he is capable of changing the match with both bat and ball. The team will be led by Carlos Brathwaite who himself is a formidable all-rounder.
Shimron Hetmyer would like to carry his form from the ODIs to the T20Is. Oshane Thomas' express pace will also be an asset for the team.
India have already announced their 12 for the Eden T20I. It is as follows: Rohit Sharma (c), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant (wk), Manish Pandey, Dinesh Karthik, Krunal Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Khaleel Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal
Rishabh Pant will keep wickets ahead of Dinesh Karthik but it looks like that Karthik will also get a look in as a pure batsman. The most probable option to be left out out of these 12 looks to be Yuzvendra Chahal as Krunal Pandya provides an all-round option at number seven.
