Cricket Betting Tips & Match Predictions: Abu Dhabi T10 League 2021 - Maratha Arabians vs Delhi Bulls - Match 5
The 5th match of the Abu Dhabi T10 league 2021 will be played between Maratha Arabians and Delhi Bulls at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Maratha Arabians have won their first game of the tournament in a swashbuckling thriller against Northern Warriors.
Fielding first, Arabians were taken to cleaners by the opening pair of Brandon King and Lendl Simmons. Brandon King was the first to be dismissed as he ran himself out by attempting to steal an impossible single. He scored 29 off 13 deliveries and put on a stand of 62 runs for the 1st wicket with Simmons. After he departed, the captain Nicolas Pooran and Simmons carried on the momentum and smashed a few to the boundary before Pooran was caught by Sompal Kami. Lendl Simmons in the meanwhile completed his first fifty of the tournament and a late blitzkrieg by Rovman Powell ensured that Northern Warriors reached a respectable total of 127 in 10 overs.
During the break, no one could have imagined Maratha Arabians would chase such a big total down. However, the opener Abdul Shakoor provided a brilliant start to the innings by carting Warriors to all parts of the ground. He held one end very strong despite the loss of wickets on the other end. In the middle overs, Mohammad Hafeez provided further push to the momentum by hitting two sixes in quick succession. Shakoor made wonderful 71 runs off 26 balls before being dismissed. His dismissal was followed by another wicket in the form of Ishan Malhotra and all of a sudden, Arabians felt under immense pressure requiring 8 off the last over.
Wayne Parnell was vested with the responsibility to finish things off. He bowled brilliant 4 balls giving away just singles but a mis-field on the 5th delivery resulted in a boundary and now Arabians needed just 1 off 1 delivery. The captain Mosaddek Hossain kept his cool and smashed the last ball to the cover boundary to win the match for his team. Fabien Allen was the pick of the bowlers for Northern Warriors as he picked up 2 wickets giving away just 8 runs in his spell of 2 overs.
Delhi Bulls have started their campaign with an emphatic win against Bangla Tigers in their last completed fixture.
After losing the toss, Delhi Bulls were asked to field first. Johnston Charles and Andre Fletcher gave a phenomenal start to Bangla Tigers and put on a stand of 101 for the first wicket in just 7.1 overs. Johnston Charles carried his bat through the innings and made a valuable contribution of 73 in just 35 deliveries. As a result, Bangla Tigers made 128 in their quota of 20 overs. For Delhi Bulls, Fidel Edwards bowled a wonderful spell of 2 overs in which he gave away just 17 runs and picked up a wicket.
Delhi Bulls seemed to be in a hurry while chasing 128 as Rahmanullah Gurbaz smashed his way to 41 runs in no time and took his team off to a flyer. He was cleaned bowled by Karim Janat in the 4th over. However, his wicket did not stop the flow of runs as Ravi Bopara continued to cart the bowlers to all parts of the ground for his well made 38 off just 16 balls. The fall of his wicket and a quick departure of Mohammad Nabi put Bangla Tigers back in the hunt. However, Evin Lewis kept his nerve and confidence to find the gaps in the field and ensured that there no more hassle in chasing down the total. He finished with an unbeaten 32 to win the game for his team by 7 wickets and 7 balls to spare.
